Topic: A classic story of creating a product to solve a problem (with some earth friendly motivation in mind).
Guest: Julie Zizka
Our story starts in 2008 as two friendly neighbors wanting to make a difference in our world. Before we knew it we created Momentum 1 Products, Inc., a company dedicated to creating innovative and responsible products that contribute to positive lifestyles, a healthy planet, and charitable causes. We truly believe in the power of products that care.
Our first product is The Tote Buddy. It’s the world’s first reusable grocery bag organizer. The Tote Buddy neatly organizes reusable bags allowing you to keep them close at hand for all shopping trips. By using The Tote Buddy and reusable bags, we’re helping to keep hundreds of thousands of plastic bags out of our landfills and oceans.

Topic: Someone Like Me
Guest: John W. Quinn
I was born with cerebral palsy. In spite of partial paralysis, two different sized feet, and the inability to walk prior to the age of four, I still was able to not only find employment, but retired at the age of forty after a highly successful twenty-year career in a major corporation: the United States Navy. I did it all while keeping my condition a complete secret out of a deep desire to be treated just like everyone else.
In Someone Like Me, An Unlikely Story of Challenge and Triumph over Cerebral Palsy, I describe what it is like to live with a handicap—a life filled with pain, laughter and love.
I wrote this book to give hope to the millions of people struggling with muscular disorders who fight to make it through every day. It is also for the parents who lie awake at night and wonder what the future holds for their children–those who resist leaving the house for fear of being laughed at because they are different. Decades later, I can still remember that laughter.
With a little luck and lots of hard work and determination to succeed despite overwhelming odds, sometimes we can indeed achieve what seems impossible.

Topic: Healing Jewelry as Works of Art
Guest: Andrea Rosenfeld
No artist can predict where her passion for creation will take her.
Artist Andrea Rosenfeld’s exciting journey has been evolutionary: from a University of Michigan Art Student to Perry Ellis Portfolio Menswear Assistant Merchandiser, to Isaac Mizrahi Ltd. Director of Merchandising and Operations, and finally to creating and owning her own jewelry line. Rosenfeld’s ultimate destination: Hot Rox Jewelry
Skilled in metal working, loom weaving, silk screening, photography, fashion design, drawing, painting, ceramics, woodworking — and now jewelry design — Rosenfeld makes use of a combination of materials and techniques, and places emphasis on texture as a main force in her creations.
The most recent path of Rosenfeld’s artistic journey has resulted in Hot Rox Jewelry’s new Kavanah Healing Line. Born out of her desire to create something for a higher purpose, she creates pieces infused with her own personal message of hope and strength, and the belief that the wearer can feel the power of these specific healing stones and their energy of creation and regeneration. In addition to offering healing properties to her clients, Rosenfeld is working towards using only recycled, reclaimed and Fair Trade materials in her work thereby making sure that the companies she supports treat their laborers with respect and compassion.
Her sculptural and playful Hot Rox Jewelry and Kavanah lines sell in boutiques, museum stores and at Bloomingdale’s Trunk Shows, but her creative passion has taken her beyond merely fashioning jewelry art to sell.
This new Kavanah Healing line has captured the interest of the Susan G. Komen For The Cure Foundation, and Rosenfeld has been asked to co-chair for an upcoming Komen Event. She is also planning to teach cancer patients to make jewelry while enlightening them to the power of healing stones.
In addition to offering healing art using eco-friendly materials, Rosenfeld also donates her jewelry art and a percentage of her proceeds to various charities to help raise money for their causes.
